Breitenbruch, Edith age 91, a resident of Katonah, NY for 56 years, died on March 22, 2012 at Northern Westchester Hospital after a brief illness.  Ms. Breitenbruch was born January 3, 1921 in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY. She was predeceased by her father, George Breitenbruch, her mother, Frances (Voltz) Breitenbruch and her sister, Harriet Breitenbruch.
Edith was a Ladies Apparel Buyer for Marshall Fields Department Stores in New York City.   She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Katonah and the Women's Civic Club of Katonah.  She is remembered as a loving and compassionate caregiver to her family members who predeceased her.
Her friends will receive visitors at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY on Saturday, March 24 from 9am to 10am.  A funeral service will be celebrated at 10am at the Funeral Home.  Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale, NY.

Ciarcia, Florence 83, of Somers, previously of Bronxville, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2012 in Carmel, NY.  Born May 23, 1928, she is the daughter of the late James Patrick and the late Eva Marie (Miller) Killeen.  She was employed as a secretary at Electrical Instrument Service of Mt. Vernon, NY for many years.  She is survived by her loving daughter Margaret and son-in-law Frank Belloni of Carmel, many nieces and nephews, and, most of all, her beloved dog Bleu.  She was predeceased by her husband Alfred.  Flo loved her job and accepted retirement only begrudgingly.  She enjoyed traveling, shopping, especially on the QVC channel, her Teddy bears and other collectibles, and, above all, her many Yorkshire Terriers over the years.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 25 at St. Joseph's RC Church, 10 Croton Falls Road, Croton Falls, NY.  A private cremation will follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Flo's memory may be made to Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam, the St. Joseph's Church Building Fund, or to an animal rescue group of your choice.
Delaney, George T. 84, of Bedford Hills, NY, died suddenly on February 22, 2012. A resident of the Town of Bedford since 1972, he was born and raised in Pittsfield, MA.  He moved to New York City as a young man to see the world, and worked in the Merchant Marine as a purser before continuing his education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he received a B.A. in Political Science, and later at New York University Law School. He was admitted to the bar in New York State in 1958. He married his wife, Carol Delaney (nee Mahoney), in 1962. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
George will be remembered for his strong love of his family, his wide curiosity about the world current events, his commitment to his principles, and, above all, for his integrity. He always held the belief that change for the better was possible, and worked to attain it in any capacity he could.  He was active in state and local politics for decades, most recently as past Chairman and current active member of the Bedford Democratic Committee.  He touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Carol, his 5 children, Danielle (John) Meehan, of Suffern, NY, Suzanne McCarthy, of West Palm Beach, FL, Shelagh (Paul) Thomas, of Clarence, NY, Kimberly (Chris) Johnson, of Greenwich, CT, Thomas (Amy) Delaney, of Portland, OR, and his 9 beloved grandchildren.  He is also survived by seven of his siblings, Robert Delaney, Eileen Harrington, James Delaney, Fr. Thomas Delaney,  John Delaney, Carol McCaffrey, and Leo Delaney.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Loretta Nixon, and June Hoerle.
Friends may visit on Sunday, February 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 27 at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Route 22, Bedford Village, NY.  Burial will follow at Middle Patent Rural Cemetery, Banksville, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club of Bedford Hills, NY PO Box 156, Bedford Hills, NY, 10507.

Feeney, Thomas L. age 54, lifetime resident of Bedford Hills, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in Cape Carteret, NC .  Tom was born June 28, 1957 in Mount Kisco, NY. He is the son of the late Richard and the late Adelaide (Medeiros) Feeney. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Cindy Smith Feeney.
Tom is survived by his daughter: Tara Anne Feeney, his sisters and brothers: Patricia (Kevin) Mahoney, Richard, Kathy, Lisa (Robert) Yozzo, Pamela (John) Lacko and Michael (Bethany) Feeney. Dear uncle of 8 nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Friday, February 24 from 6:00-9:00PM with a Memorial Service starting at 7:30PM at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY.

Fortugno,Claudia age 82, of Yorktown Heights, NY died Friday, January 6, 2012.

She is survived by her husband: James Fortugno, one daughter: Tina Fortugno of Nanuet, NY and one son: James Fortugno,daughter-in-law Liz, and three grandchildren, James III, Jason and Jenna of New City, NY.

Also survived by 4 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hayes,Mary E., age 91, of Katonah died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at home.  Mrs. Hayes was born May 2, 1920 in Eustic, FL. She is the daughter of the late Henry and the late Eleanor (Anderson) Miller. 
She was employed by William A. Kelly, Inc. of Katonah, NY as a Secretary until her retirement in 1990.
     Mary is survived by one son: Mickey (Lauren) Hayes; one daughter: Lauren B. Jarmoszko of Montville, NJ; four grandchildren: Jamie Jarmoszko, Sarah (Dan) Quinn, Krystyna (Eric) McDonald, Jennifer Jarmoszko; a brother: Ralcey Miller and a sister: Grace Emmons.
    Mary was well known for her walking throughout the town of Katonah. She was the secretary for the Bedford Historical Society and an avid quilter and Member of the Nutmeg Quilting Society of Ridgefield, CT.
     A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Bedford Union Cemetery, Clinton Road, Bedford, NY.

Kostiew, Margarethe 90, of Pawling, NY(formerly of Cross River)  on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Putnam Ridge Health Care Facility of Brewster, NY.  Mrs. Kostiew was born April 3, 1921 in Germany, She was predeceased by her husband, Anton Kostiew on Sept. 21, 2011.

Paline O'ConnorPauline O'Connor, 88, long time resident of Bedford Hills, passed away on January 26, 2012 at Waterview Hills. She and her twin sister, Betty were born in Elgin, Scotland, December 29, 1923 to Paul and Ann MacDonald.  The family immigrated through Canada into the United States settling in Katonah, New York where she grew up.  Pauline became a registered nurse after attending the University of Michigan and worked in Northern Westchester Hospital. She married Eugene “Gene” O’Connor after his return from WWII and had three children; Thomas, Barbara and Joan.  She is preceded in death by “Gene”, her husband; Barbara, her daughter; and “Betty”, her twin sister.  She is survived by her children: Thomas O’Connor and Joan O’Connor, a daughter-in-law: Eileen O’Connor and four grandchildren: Jamie O’Connor, Jason O’Connor, Leighann Terraforte and Megan Terraforte.
     Family will receive friends on Monday, January 30, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 31 at St. Mary Of The Assumption R C Church, 117 Valley Road, Katonah, NY.  Interment will follow at Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Fund.

Phelps, Louise age 93, a lifelong resident of Bedford Hills, died on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Sky View Health Care Center of Croton-on-Hudson, NY.  Mrs. Phelps was born November 18, 1918 in Bedford Hills, NY, Mrs. Phelps is the daughter of the late Anton Alfred Fiedler and Madeline Heiskanin.  Louise was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for many years and a member of the Taconic Hills Kennel Club.  She showed collies for four decades with her daughter, Karen.
Louise is survived by her two daughters, Karen Phelps of Yorktown Heights, NY and Mayona Phelps Engdahl of Oakland, CA; two sons, Gerald Phelps of Bedford Hills, NY and James Phelps, Jr. of Enfield, CT.  She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Robert Allen Rubinstein
Master Mechanic and Amateur Auto Racer

Robert rubensteinMIDDLEBURY, CT  --  Robert “Bob” Rubinstein, 75, Middlebury  resident and, previously, long-time resident of Katonah, NY, died at home on February 3, 2012 with his wife by his side after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born in New York, New York on December 18, 1936, the son of the late Herman and Fanny (Trachtenberg) Rubinstein. Before his retirement Bob was  the self-employed owner of Karl’s Garage & Motor Service, Inc. in Riverdale, New York. Prior to this he worked for Lotus East in Manhattan. He was also a veteran of the Korean War.

After briefly attending City College of New York and completing his service in Korea, Robert worked for Johns Manville before deciding to create his career around what he loved most: the automobile. His talents in this field were broad: an expert at complex repairs, including exotic cars, automotive sales and test-driving special models.

He gained some fame in the regional amateur racing circuit when, throughout the Sixties and the early Seventies he won dozens of trophies and awards for slalom or obstacle course driving his beloved white Jaguar at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT

Bob was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Jaguar Club. Especially, he was known to his friends and family for his jovial nature and penchant for humor of all kinds.

Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years, Constance Burak Rubinstein; his sons, Gary and Jay, both of Hoboken, NJ; his step-daughter, Johanna Bates, her husband, Colin Mitchell and their son, Emlyn Mitchell-Bates of Montague, Mass.
He also leaves a sister, Helene Rubinstein Bergman of Manhattan, and a brother, deceased, Joel Rubinstein. He will also be missed by his niece, Meredith Bergman Apicella, her husband David Apicella and their son, Ben, of Stamford, CT; also his nephew, David Bergman of Manhattan. His previous marriage to Joan Hoffman Rubinstein-Payne ended in divorce.

A Memorial Service will be held at Clark Associates, Katonah, New York on Monday, February 6 at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.

Satkowski, Virginia M. age 65, of Katonah died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Sleepy Hollow, NY.  Mrs. Satkowski was born September 22, 1946 in Hempstead, NY. She is the daughter of the late William J. and the late Sheila (Fox) Boyle.
Devoted wife of Al for 47 years.  Loving mother of Rebecca (Arioch) Griffiths and Scott Satkowski.  Cherished grandmother of Billy and Jack.
Virginia recently retired as a Guidance Counselor from Somers High School.

Smith,Joyce B. a lifelong resident of the Katonah area died on March 6th at her home in Bedford Hills.  Mrs. Smith is the daughter of the late Lelon and Edna Brooks.  Mrs. Smith is survived by her son Mitchell C. Smith Catskill NY, her granddaughter Olivia L. Smith and many loving nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years Richard W. Smith and her daughter Lucinda L. Smith.  A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm March 24th at St. Mark’s Church, Mount Kisco.

Talia,Lisa A. 45 of Goldens Bridge, formerly of Yonkers, NY died on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center of Mount Kisco, NY after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She is the beloved wife of Michael C. Talia, Loving mother of Louis and Christina, sister of Mark (Mary) Lupo and cherished daughter of Michael and Anna (Bonserio) Lupo also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Urbach, Rita 87, of Somers, NY, passed away on March 8, 2012. She was born in Reval, Estonia on January 19, 1925. Her beloved husband, Rudolf Urbach, and her son, Robert Urbach, predeceased her. She is survived by her devoted son Ronald Urbach, and his wife, Bea Seravello, and her three lovely grandchildren, Joshua, Kathryn and Jennifer Urbach. Visitation will be at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd, Katonah, NY on Sat from 7-9 pm and Sun from 2-4 pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral  home on Sunday at 3:00pm. Sallly Ann VrbaSallyann Vrba, 64, of Somers, NY on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center of Mount Kisco, NY. after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She is survived by her husband: Adolph Vrba and her son, Alfred, her 2 grandchildren, her siblings: Celia, Linda, Lenny, Millie and Chuck, several nieces and nephews and 2 great nieces.

Sallyann was a vivacious woman who was active in The Theatre as a Costumer.
She had a great passion for life and helping others. She will be missed by her friends and family.

Yodice, Madeline C. 86, a long time resident of Katonah, NY and also of The Country House in Yorktown Heights died on February 23, 2012.
Miss Yodice was born September 23, 1925 in Katonah, NY. She is the daughter of the late Ralph, Sr. and the late Anna (Ruocco) Yodice.
She was a Telephone Operator for AT&T in Mt. Kisco, NY for 40 years.
Madeline is survived by her sister: Mary Santori of Sarasota, FL;  her nieces: Janet Luff of Andover, NJ, Marianne Holian of Kinnelon, NJ; Mary Stephens of Sarasota, FL., and her nephew, Frank Panetta of Succasunna, NJ. and also 6 great Nieces and Nephews and 3 great-great nieces.
